Pictet Asset Management is a private investment management company that was founded in 1967, although its parent group company the Pictet Group can trace its history back to 1805 in Geneva. The company currently acts as a direct subsidiary of Pictet & Cie, which, along with many other related subsidiaries, make up the Pictet Group, one of the largest independent wealth and asset management companies in Europe. The company provides most of its services to pooled investment vehicles, which makes up over half of its total clients, although its diverse client base also includes pension and profit sharing plans, corporations, investment companies, charities, and state and municipal government entities listed in order of decreasing accounts. Pictet Asset Management offers a variety of services including managing client focused equity, fixed income, and balanced portfolios and mutual funds and hedge funds, also providing active support for multi-asset and alternative strategies. The company currently has approximately $32 billion in total assets under management spread across 118 accounts, averaging around $270 million each. Pictet Asset Management employs 249 people and generates its revenue through a mixed fee plan that includes a percentage of assets and performance based fees. Although the total accounts that the company holds has remained relatively stable in the past 5 years, the company’s total assets under management has almost tripled since 2010. Pictet Asset Management invests in a variety of public equity, fixed income, and alternative investment markets on a global scale. The company focuses most of its assets in the utilities, services, and technology sectors, which together make up over half of its total assets, and also invests in the financial, consumer noncyclical, basic materials, capital goods, and energy sectors, among others, listed in order of decreasing amount allocated.
