* To GuruFocus.com >> as "Richday101" & many other investors here agree: THANKS for the great work, this constant client/ gurufocus.com dialogue is great!
* Suggestion A: the scale of data can vary a LOT from the small companies to the mega caps (e.g. P/B that are 10x different; positive & negative values), so for every data check box on the left-side, add a small drop-down menu for users to select if that data should be on "Y1" (y-axis 1), "Y2" (y-axis 2), "Y3" (y-axis 3), etc. Users will select the y-axis that makes the most sense.
I graphed Price, DCF (per share) and Median PS (per share) for All years. To compare them you need to have all plotted on the same scale, but it chooses two different Y axes. Is it possible to have them plotted on the same scale i.e. 1 Y axis?
The most recent changes improve the readability and aesthetics in my opinion. I'm busy getting somethings put to bed before the holidays. I'll try to have a closer look in the new year and let you know if I run into anything.
Happy Holidays and thanks again for the great charts!
The black and green chart is a downgrade from the previous white background one IMO. There also seems to be a significant amount of space wasted. Lastly, could the chart be made to scale with ones browser window size or failing that can you make it so one can select a larger size so data rich charts are more readable?
AWESOME Work from your end to help the TRUE Intellectuals, who are trying to survive or beat their superior or inferior oppositions. Keep up the great work.
Hi,
You need better scaling when using the price of a stock with its Min/Max financial ratios.Currently the min/max financial ratio,i.e dividend yield flatlines.Perhaps tabular columns for each item graphed would help as well
Hi,
I noticed that under key ratios, you have a dividend yield of 2.0% for RSH,yet it has an 8.0% yield if you double click to graph it.RSH has a quarterly dividend of 0.13.
It appears that the key ratio number is incorrect as RSH yields 8.0%.
I'm not so keen on an x/y axis. A tracking ball is good enough. Also, may I suggest that your current system of a tracking box is super distracting? A tracking ball with date/price on top left or right would suffice.
I get really tired of trying to watch historical prices with that box bouncing and jiggling all over the place.
Thanks for your suggestions! Maybe we need three y-axises : share price, ratio and financial data($Mil). We will think about the implementation of that.
For the data range, how long do you think is ok? Now we display data from January 2000 till now.
Can we have the option of having two axis? Eg. share price on left axis, and PE or PB ratio on the right hand side? Right now if you have both charts together, the share price chart can make the PE or PE ratio scale squashed.
Few more suggestions:
1) Median P/B and P/E lines are both green colour - difficult to distinguish please change them to differenc colour.
2) Keep max and min P/* lines the same color as median but use ---- or .....
3) min and max p/* should be average of at least 2 years - sometimes 1 year data is an outlier.
Suggestions for couple of small improvements:
Please make the legend box a little bigger or font smaller. It is currently getting cut-off.
Also not able to use the "embed" functions for customized P/S, P/E, P/B. The line is not showing up in the embeded chart.
What I meant below was price at median p/fcf etc. Many of the advanced metrics which are capital structure neutral such as Enterprise Value/EBITDA or cash return [news.morningstar.com] can be put under premium metrics. These are very useful and unique numbers which no service currently provides. These are tedious to calculate and would offer great value to subscribers.
Thanks for adding the second Y axis.
Great work. This app is getting better and better. I use it everyday.
Couple of more suggestion for further enhancement.
1. Ability to edit P/E, P/S, P/B ratio's. (this would help users model scenario's to account of P/E compression or expansion assumptions).
2. Ability to project price based on growth - i.e. assuming 8% earnings growth and a given p/e - what would the price of JNJ be in 3 years.
You should also think of adding other metrics like P/FCF, cash return and enterprise value / ebitda etc.
Hello. Just one suggestion: Removing the compare option (in %), there is no effective way to compare the sellected company with S&P or Dow, or any other company with a higher or lower stock price.
Anyway you are doing a great job. Interactive charts are really usefull. Congratulations !!
We have added second Y axis for comparison. The left side Y axis is for Price/Valuation/Per Share Data. The right side Y axis is for Income Statement/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow Statement.
The nice price chart on the "Guru Trades" tab has been taken off and replaced with a new chart. Not good. Now you have an added click to the "Summary" tab to get to this 10yr/5yr/1yr chart.
Now you could embed GuruFocus Interactive chart in your website. After you draw the series you selected just click "embed" button on the top right corner, you could get the embed code.
I was running the chart for GameStop GME and it shows that the P/FCF is 5. I think that is Price to Operating Cash Flow. Please correct it. Are you displaying FCF or Cash Flow ? Even the Per Share FCF is incorrect. Its Per Share Cash Flow. Big difference!
The ratio charting for various periods is valuable.
I like to compare trailing averages to current values. Would it be possible to add several periods of trailing moving averages to the chart? E.g., 1 mo, 6 mo, 5 yr, 10 yr?
Adding the ratio's is a real improvement. Can the colour of median P/B and P/E lines be made more distinct as different shades of green make it difficult to distinguish.
Also have you thought of adding industry metrics - i,e it would be useful to compare a stock price to median industry P/E or P/S etc.
Richday101, we added calculated ratios in the chart legends area. Now when you draw MAX/Median/Min PS/PB/PE series, you will know the ratios. When you change the date range, those ratios will be automatically recalculated.
It would be nice to see the calculated ratios in the colour key box, e.g. if you select 3 ratios, Max P/E, Median P/E, Min P/E, it would be nice to see the actual ratio values in a box which can be changed and redrawn. For example, I like the min and max to cross the price chart at 2 points not just one, so I would change my selected values to Max P/E=20 (rather than 29), Min P/E=10 (rather than 7). This would be fabulous if it can be done. Thanks for developing these great charts for our use.
I like it but for all the displays for ticker symbol it seems I have to go up to the top box to enter a new ticker. Would be nice if each tab allowed you to change the ticker for that feature. Thanks
Hi, Mick! We have made some more enhancement to it. There is a "Percentage" checkbox, clicking that you will see the comparison in percentages.
Richday01, we are working on a "Save" function, with which you can choose your settings and display them in one click.
Could you please explain more about 'ratios (e.g. Min P/E, P/S) for the most RECENT QUARTER"? We thought they are there if you choose "1m" or "3m" on the time tab.
Thank you very much for the feedbacks! Looking forward to more.
Very nice. Would like to see ratios (e.g. Min P/E, P/S) for the most RECENT QUARTER. We can see it for all the previous quarters but no for the latest.
Keep up the good work. We value investors appreciate your website.
Very nice. I would like to be able to keep the previous settings, e.g. P/S for Max, Median, Min and 10 years and be able to go from symbol to symbol. It always goes back to 1 year and blanks for chart types. Should be able to set default or go back to what you used last.
Keep up the good work.
Very nice start! I'd like to see candlesticks as an option. Also, if more than one symbol is in the chart the Y-axis needs to become %, not absolute numbers. For example, try comparing any stock with price below $100 to S&P - an unhelpful display results.
Keep up the good work!
Please give us feedback on the chart. We are still working on this.

Any reason that AAPL is indicating 0 for its dividend yield?

Also suggest adding a Price at median EBTIDA or operating earnings - the reason is frequently "earnings" are distorted by non-recurring charges.
Thanks,
Cory

what we have there is Free cash flow. In the case of GameStop, the FCF (TTM) was $4.74, therefore the price/FCF is around 5.
Thanks!

We added a input box "Get Interactive Chart for". You could input the symbol to go to a another stock chart.
