Guru Stocks Raising Dividends: PEBO, WBCO, AJG, HCP, STX

This is the group of companies who raised their dividend during the week: Peoples Bancorp Inc., Washington Banking Company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., HCP and Seagate Technology.

Peoples Bancorp Inc. (PEBO)

Peoples Bancorp Inc. has a market cap of $163.9 million; its shares were traded at around $15.5 with a P/E ratio of 20.5 and P/S ratio of 1.3.

Peoples Bancorp Inc. announced results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2011. Net income available to common shareholders totaled $3.5 million, or $0.33 per diluted common share, for the quarter, and $11.2 million, or $1.07 for the year. On January 26, the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.11 per share. The dividend is payable Feb. 21, 2012, to shareholders of record on February 6, 2012. The yield based on the new payout is 2.9%.

Washington Banking Company (WBCO)

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and its subsidiaries are engaged in providing insurance brokerage, risk management, employee benefit and other related services to clients in the United States and abroad. Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has a market cap of $3.79 billion; its shares were traded at around $33.39 with a P/E ratio of 23.1 and P/S ratio of 2. On January 26, the company increased its quarterly dividend 3% to $0.34 per share. The dividend is payable on April 13, 2012 to stockholders of record as of March 30, 2012. The yield based on the new payout is 4.1%.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. reported sneak peak results for the third quarter 2011. The company has seen net income rise in three straight quarters. Net income rose 38.2% in the first quarter and 16.7% in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year.

Revenue has gone up for three straight quarters. It rose 45.3% in the first quarter from the year earlier and 40.5% in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year.

On January 26, the company increased its quarterly dividend 39% to $0.25 per share, an increase of 39%. The dividend is payable on March 1 to shareholders of record on February 15. The yield based on the new payout is 5.1%.

Seagate Technology reported financial results for the quarter ended July 1, 2011. Seagate reported net income of $126 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.28 for the quarter ended July 1, 2011. For the fiscal year ended July 1, 2011, the company reported revenue of $11.0 billion, gross margin of 19.6%, net income of $511 million and diluted earnings per share of $1.09.

Charles Brandes, Jean-Marie Eveillard, and Edward Lampert own shares of STX stock.
