Great value investor Mario Gabelli of GAMCO Investors was on Bloomberg to discuss the U.S. stock market, what is ailing the markets and his investment strategy. He also discusses great investors like John Malone and what those people can do with financial engineering (merger, buyouts, spin-offs etc.). -- U.S. markets have gone up, and Mario is looking for undervalued opportunities in areas of financial engineering. -- He recommended buying Kraft (KFT) spin-off Mendelz for 15% compounded return. -- What he is worried about the global and U.S. economy — 3 Fs: fuel, food and fiscal cliff -- And killer Bs: What is Beijing going to do, what is Berlin going to do with election in Germany next year and What is Bernank going to do? -- Things that will help the human body: nutritional, gluten free, -- Also likes opportunities in the money management companies.
