President of value investor John Rogers' Ariel Investments, Mellody Hobson, was on CNBC to discuss her outlook for the U.S. stock market and why she thinks stocks are still the best bet in the long run. She thinks stocks will outperform all asset classes over the long term.
-- Stocks are the most important component to produce growth. -- Overall stock markets have outperformed all other investments in the long run. -- Stock markets never had two back-to-back decades of negative growth. -- American businesses are in great shape today. -- All these factors make the stock market still the best bet for the long-term investors.
