Gold soars and there is no inflation ?

Who would ever dream that gold would be over 1000 without runnaway inflation . Why does gold soar ? hype - gold has no real value so the sky is the limit. Just like internet stocks with no sales and earnings. Gold is worth what people are willing to pay for it . Gold has no earning and pays no dividend .
