hi,

a while back i read an article on a Canadian Value investor who invests in really distressed company's, i.e. polical troubles, unfavourable events, etc.
I believe he manages only his own personal wealth but he has an extrodinary record, and in the past has taken huge bets on one or two stocks, his porfolio is very concentrated.

Does any here remember who im talking about? i cant remember his name.
I know the information i have given is not much, but maybe someone knows who im talking about.

thanks.

Look at the Fortune 40 screens.

A simle deep value screen returned 30% last year.

I also love that article, and if we are talking about the same one(I believe we are), it is indeed kbodawala's link there. The descriptions of his investing style and the specific forays into Jo-Ann Fabrics, Valero, and Qualcomm are just tremendous...
