Buying stocks before the ex-dividend date is simple. If you buy a stock before the ex-dividend date and hold it, you will receive the next dividend. Buying high yielding stocks is not a one-way strategy to high returns.

In addition to high returns, the valuation should be fair. This is the main reason why every day I screentomorrow’s best ex-dividend stocks by yield and market capitalization.

In total, 64 stocks go ex dividend, of which 18 yield more than 3 percent. The average yield amounts to 3.69%. Here is a full list of all stocks with ex-dividend date within the current week.

The ex-dividend date is a major date related to the payment of dividends. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or later, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend. It is important that your broker settles your trade before the ex-dividend date.

Realty Income has a market capitalization of $7.83 billion and operates within the retail REIT industry.

The Realty Income Corp. stock has a current operating margin of 53.10% and the debt to equity ratio amounts to 0.91. Earnings per share are expected to grow by -20.72% for the next year and 5.30% for the upcoming five years.

These are the market ratios of the company: P/E Ratio: 56.38, Forward P/E Ratio: 40.23, P/S Ratio: 12.93, P/B Ratio: 1.76, Dividend Yield: 5.45%.

McDonald's has a market capitalization of $94.97 billion and operates within the restaurants industry.

The McDonald's Corp. stock has a current operating margin of 30.20% and the debt to equity ratio amounts to 0.88. Earnings per share are expected to grow by 9.09% for the next year and 8.45% for the upcoming five years.

These are the market ratios of the company: P/E Ratio: 17.37, Forward P/E Ratio: 15.52, P/S Ratio: 3.42, P/B Ratio: 6.26, Dividend Yield: 3.25%.

NV Energy has a market capitalization of $5.59 billion and operates within the diversified utilities industry.

The NV Energy, Inc. stock has a current operating margin of 27.00% and the debt to equity ratio amounts to 1.41. Earnings per share are expected to grow by 3.11% for the next year and 3.83% for the upcoming five years.

Kellogg Company has a market capitalization of $22.43 billion and operates within the processed and packaged goods industry.
