    • Nice article SOH .. I bought WMT in May of 2010 and have held on to it ever since. I bought some more when it hit low 50's but overall i have an 8% CAGR to show w dividends reinvested in over 6 years. S&P meanwhile notched 2.5 times the gain in the same time.

      I am not worried though. Although retail is extremely competitve, WMT has a clear competitve advantage that it continues to invest in. As the market gets more competitive, other players will be hurt much earlier than WMT would - esp by Amazon. IMHO there is enough room for AMZN and WMT to gain from all the others and at current valuation I prefer WMT to AMZN. Its a simple thesis, we'll see how it works out.
