Jim Chanos: Sees `Monumental' Property Bubble In China

Jim Chanos, founder of Kynikos Associates Ltd., talks with Bloomberg's Margaret Brennan about China's real estate market and investment strategy for the region. Chanos, speaking from London, also discusses regulatory proposals for hedge funds.


Recently Jim Chanos called China is Dubai times 1000, inviting harsh criticism from proponents like Jim Rogers.


Jim Chanos laid out his reasons for shorting China, saying China is going through a real estate bubble and a fix asset bubble.


As for China’s recent effort to curb lending, Chanos concerned that historically it has not been easy to deflate bubbles.


Jim Chanos also defended himself against the criticism after he made a short call on China.
