Walgreen Company (WAG)

Walgreen Co. is a national retail pharmacy chain and considered the leader in innovative drugstore retailing. Walgreen Company has a market cap of $29.49 billion; its shares were traded at around $30.14 with a P/E ratio of 14.4 and P/S ratio of 0.5. The company increased the quarterly dividend 27.3% to $0.175 per share, for the 35th consecutive year. Walgreen is a dividend aristocrat and yields 2.40%. (analysis)

Walgreens announced earnings and sales results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2010. Third quarter sales increased 6.1 percent from the prior-year quarter to a record $17.2 billion and increased 6.1 percent to $50.6 billion for the first nine months of fiscal 2010. Net earnings for the quarter ended May 31, 2010, were $463 million or 47 cents per diluted share.
