Shiller Vs. Siegel: Is the Recession Over?

Jeremy Siegel and Robert Shiller are both good friends who regularly appear on TV together. But that does not stop them from expressing their differing view points. Siegel is usually more of a bull, while Shiller is usually more bearish. This video is no exception to the rule. Siegel believes the recession is over, while Shiller is much more reserved in making such forecasts.

I respect both men but would go with Shiller on this one. In terms of economic calls, Shiller has a far better track record than Siegel. Shiller predicted the housing bubble, and the tech bubble years before both bubbles burst. In addition, Shiller is a true expert on the housing market, and the economic recovery is very dependent on the housing market. Finally, last year when everyone was all giddy, and bullish Shiller was cautioning people that the talk of "the green shoots" was premature.
