With asset under management ballooned with almost $6 billion, long term value investor has been able to add to a lot of his positions. But while he has more assets under management, he is reducing his positions in CLX, AXP, REXI, TJX, UPS.

If you want to know more about Don Yacktman, you should certainly read the article about his lonely crusade in 1999, when the market was close to its historical peak. He was almost fired by his board of directors because he did not buy technology stocks. He quickly lost most of his asset under management. 0% of the funds' remaining shareholders voted in favor of Yacktman, and he replaced the board of directors of his fund. But in 1998, he trailed the S&P by 27%, and 1999 by 37%.

But Since then, his has excelled. Over the past 10 years, his fund gained more than 200%, while the market gained only 16%. In the market crash from 2001 to 2002, he gained 19% and 11%, respectively. Then in 2008, he lost 26%, better than the market by 11%. He successfully turned into low quality stocks in 2009, and his fund gained 59% in the market recovery.

Now Yacktman is investing in large cap quality stocks. He thinks that quality large caps will deliver about average returns over the coming years. Interestingly, he owns quite a few technology names, which we will discuss in the next article.
