We have recently received many inquiries about where to find value ideas for international stocks. With this article we would like introduce the features that we have to help users to find value ideas for international stocks.
Please note, the international stocks we cover are only for the foreign companies that are traded in the United States.
International Stocks in Gurus Portfolios
We have just added an “International” tab in Gurus’ portfolios, as described in the article about George Soros’ Chinese stocks. As an example, you can find all international stocks that are owned by Soros’ Fund by going to George Soros’ portfolio page, and click on the “International” tab. The screen shot is as below:
We can see that George Soros owns many stocks of the companies from different countries of the world: Brazil, China, Great Britain, Israel, etc. As usual, the full holding histories of these stocks are shown by clicking on the rows you are interested.
Gurus’ Trades with International Stocks
Under menu “Premium Screens” => “International,” we list all the international stocks traded by Gurus. The screen shot of the menu is listed below:
We can see that there are 133 trades with Canadian Stocks. Among South America companies, 55 trades are listed from Brazil, 11 for Chile and 7 for Argentina. Also 55 for China, 26 for Israel etc.
From this list our users can find the stocks in the region that they are interested.
Most Owned International Stocks among Gurus
With Gurus’ Aggregated Portfolio you can select arbitrary combinations of Gurus and check out their consensus holdings. Under this page you can also narrow down your holdings to different section of the market, such as geographic regions and market caps. By selecting the regions there you can find the most popular international companies that are in Gurus’ portfolios.
A screen shot is shown below for the Canadian companies of 11 Gurus.
This page also allows users to see how many Gurus own the stock, how many bought and sold. One can also find the valuation matrix such as PE, market cap and dividends yields. We can see that the most popular Canadian stocks among the selected Gurus are Yamana Gold (AUY, Financial) and MI Developments (MIM, Financial). The popular European stocks are GlaxoSmitheLline (GSK, Financial) and Vodafone Group (VOD, Financial).
Gurus’ Geographic Trend
GuruFocus also offers a tool for the overview of the investment trend for different regions and countries. It is under “Premium Screens” => “Geographic Trend”. In this page users can see which regions Gurus are buying into, and which regions they are selling out.
This page displays the Gurus that are in subscribers’ Personalized List only. Clicking on each of the bar brings you to the details of the stocks.
International Stocks at 52-Week Lows
This page lists the international stocks that are at close to 52-week lows. It is under “Value Strategies” => “52 Week Low International.” A screen shot of the page is shown below:
