Nice link. Since we are both oil men, and ones that often disagree (whether you know it or not) on prospective investments, and also we both are from a value based approach, I'd be interested in knowing how you feel about Donald Trump's recent activity in the press stating that he believes the U.S. can be oil independent and sustainable at $40 per barrel. If you look at the Income statements of the major players, especially Continental Resources, one realizes that the county, state, and federal taxation as well as the cost to put a bit in the ground along with the land leases and percentages paid to the mineral rights owners are in far greater excess than the average production that is drawn from the ground at $40 bbl. I personally think he's engaged in a campaign to excite the lesser knowledgeable people. However, he does have some good ideas. In any event, my question isn't about him as it is so much about oil at $40. I've committed it to paper and think he's dead wrong and, not so much as being wrong as that he is politically pandering. Your thoughts? And, this may not be the correct forum for my question but I don't know where else to ask it.

Incidentally, watching the video. Although it's a tremendous learning tool, the audio can barely be made out, partly due to Pabrai's accent but mostly due to the poor mic quality. In any event, it's free and I won't complain. I'll copy it to my multi-track, add compression and a noise gate and bring it up to clarity. (I ran a recording company for many years, retired but still kept all the tools).

I agree. It's barely audible (terrible acoustics of the room, lousy recording equipment, coughing sounds, etc.). Jhodges72: will your clarified audio track be available to other members here? Thank you. By the way, I had lunch with Mohnish Pabrai several years ago in Boston. He's a very nice guy and clearly an extremely intelligent person.
