Notable Dividend Hikes: BOK Financial, Williams, IBM, and Valmont Industries

These are today's dividend hikes by The Dynamic Dividend on Lazard Ltd (LAZ, Financial), BOK Financial Corporation (BOKF), Williams Companies (WMB, Financial), International Business Machines (IBM, Financial), Valmont Industries (VMI, Financial).


Valmont Gives Shareholders a 9% Raise

Valmont Industries (VMI) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.18 per share today, a 9.1% increase over the $0.165 per share paid each of the previous four quarters by the producer of fabricated metal products. Valmont is now on pace to pay an increased dividend total for the tenth consecutive year.


Shares of VMI closed at $105.30 (+1.41%) today, where they now feature a 0.68% dividend yield.


Valmont has increased its annual dividend total every year dating back to 2002, improving its payout by a total of 177% over that short span.


IBM Raises Dividend for 16th Straight Year

International Business Machines (IBM) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.75 per share today, a 15.4% improvement over the previous four dividends paid by the IT giant. This marks the 16th consecutive year IBM has given its shareholders a raise. The company’s board also authorized $8 billion in additional funds for use in the company’s stock repurchase program, nearly tripling the $4.7 billion balance remaining from a prior authorization.


Shares of IBM are currently trading at $168.79 (+0.67%), where they now feature a 1.78% dividend yield.


IBM halved its quarterly dividend back in 1993, but eventually regained its dividend growth mojo in 1996, and has raised its payout every year since. In addition to extending its 16-year dividend growth streak, today’s announcement also marks the 8th consecutive year IBM has given shareholders a double-digit raise.


Lazard’s 28% Dividend Hike: It’s Biggest Yet



Lazard Ltd (LAZ) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.16 per share today, a 28% improvement over the $0.125 per share paid each of the previous seven quarters by the financial advisory and asset management firm.


Shares of LAZ closed at $41.11 (-0.51%) today, where they now feature a 1.56% dividend yield.


Lazard has raised its dividend three times since it began returning cash to shareholders in 2005, with this being the largest increase. Previously, the firm boosted its payout by 11% (2008) and 25% (2009).


BOK Financial Raises Dividend For Sixth Straight Year

BOK Financial Corporation (BOKF) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.275 per share today, a 10% improvement over the $0.25 paid each of the previous four quarters by the financial holding company. The announcement came within today’s first quarter earnings release, in which BOK posted earnings of $0.94 per share, topping the consensus view ($0.91 per share).


Shares of BOKF closed the day trading at $51.86 (+1.39%), where they now feature a 2.12% dividend yield.


BOK has given shareholders a raise every year since initiating its quarterly dividend in 2005, boosting its payout by a total of 175% over that short span


Williams Boosts Dividend by 60%, With More to Come

Williams Companies (WMB) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.20 per share after today’s closing bell, a 60% improvement over the $0.125 paid each of the previous four quarters by the integrated natural gas company.


The company also said it’s targeting an additional 10-15% dividend increase a year from now.


Shares of WMB closed at $32.55 (+1.66%) today, where they now feature a 2.46% dividend yield.


Williams Companies holds a 75% ownership interest (including the general-partner interest) in Williams Partners L.P. (WPZ), which raised its distribution last week.
