Leon Cooperman gave a presentation last week at the Delivering Alpha Conference. Cooperman discussd his five favorite stocks, his presidential picks, why we will not go into a recession and more. Below is some brief commentary followed by the full presentation in scribd.
Cooperman stated that buying treasuries right now is “ridiculous”.
He listed 14 reasons why he does not think the US will enter into a recession in 2011 or 2012 (included in the presentation).
He thinks it is a good contrarian sign that most money managers are reducing their equity exposure.
Cooperman got into politics a bit and stated that if Rick Perry wins the GOP nomination, he will sit out the elections. If Mitt Romney wins the GOP nomination, Cooperman would vote for Romney over Obama. He compared President Obama’s rise to Hitler, but quickly clarified that he was not comparing the two men; merely pointing out that both had little prior experience.
