Why CEOs Are Buying Stocks Of Their Own Companies?

  1. As legendary investor Peter Lynch said: "Insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise."
  2. TOP EXECUTIVES like CEOs and CFOs are savvy buyers of their companies' shares. One long-term study showed that they beat the market on average by six percentage points a year.
  3. Another study found that the aggregated activities of insiders can serve as a good indicator to locate market bottoms. Insiders as a whole are smart investors of their own companies.

Joe Demanche dumping AMRC stock at a loss since the fall of 2011 should tell you something. This guy is willing to sell at $10-11, which means the shares aren't worth $9 which the directors and top management IPOd at. It gives you insight to the inner workings of these snake oil salesmen. They know their product is sub-par and all smoke and mirrors. They well know the gig will be up soon, as with all ESCOs (think ENRON and Duke Energy where Mr. Demanche and other top managers hail from), as soon as the regulators catch on (i.e. $25k dinners for Obama which are attended by the likes of Sakallaris, which is in fact the same stimulus money going back to the DNC - the real green jobs scam), and the fake money dries up, these guys will divest in a hearbeat (just like George did with Noresco, now owned by UT).
