Aubrey McClendon And The Wing Clipping Ceremony

June 10, 2012 | About:

With your indulgence I hereby continue my series of diatribes about McClendon by referring the readers to yet another article about this apparently still developing scandal:

Aubrey McClendon And The Wing Clipping Ceremony

by Richard Finger, forbes.com contributor

"I think Aubrey is a guy with a near delusional conviction that he owns Chesapeake and that it is his little fiefdom where he can do whatever he likes whenever he likes. Reality is that he was a co-founder of Chesapeake and now is an owner of (give or take) one quarter of one percent with a market value of about $27 million. He scraped off four times that amount in the past eighteen months in the FWPP and his last three years compensation has been cummulatively [sic] over $57 million. His ownership is becoming almost a secondary nuisance. Aubrey’s massive confusion about his role at CHK must be clarified. He must do just one more thing……leave." [bold font added]

A Screener Endorsed by Warren Buffett without Knowing

In a recent interview Warren Buffett mentioned three companies that he finds attractive. Out of the three companies he mentioned, two of them are listed in GuruFocus’ Buffett-Munger screener. Buffett-Munger Screener looks for high quality companies that are traded at fair prices, the kind of companies that Buffett buys and hold forever. The Model Portfolio of Buffett-Munger Screener has outperformed the market year-over-year. It is just one of the features provided with GuruFocus Premium Membership.
