Pershing Square founder Bill Ackman says in a telephone interview with Bloomberg today, “I 100% believe in the strategy” of J.C. Penney (JCP) and that he is "very comfortable’’ with CEO Ron Johnson handling marketing. Sheila Dharmarajan and Mark Crumpton investigate what's going on with J.C. Penney's stock on Bloomberg Television's "Bottom Line."

I like JCP too. However on relative basis price does not fully discount the turn around effort and time it may take to come back. It needs to be slightly below book value. Other than that i think Bill Achman and Ron Jhonson are more than capable to turn this around. This is not Sears which had to not only compete directly with online retailers but had to also deal with worst housing crises especially in its appliances business.

People dont buy clothes online , so fundamentaly JCP is not effected by any secular trends.
