Carl Icahn Discusses His $3B Offer for Oshkosh and His Acquisition Strategy

October 12, 2012 | About:

Well-known billionaire investor Carl Icahn was on Bloomberg to discuss his just announced buyout offer for Oshkosh Corp (NYSE:OSK) and his reasons for why OSK is a great value.

-- Oshkosh is undervalued company with poor management and offers compelling value for capital growth.

-- We had lot of discussions with management. They promised a lot but have not delivered.

-- Oshkosh is beaten down by uncertainty about defense spending, weak housing and construction spending.

-- Oshkosh management is not proactive and is not taking steps required to weather the volatile economy and shrinking defense industry.

-- Oshkosh is worth a great deal more if the company is split.
