PIMCO's CEO and Co-CIO Mohamed El-Erian was on Bloomberg to discuss his views on U.S. growth outlook and the housing market. He also shared his views on Europe, Vikram Pandit's resignation, U.S. banks and U.S. presidential election.

-- Housing continues to form a good bottom.
-- All indicators including housing, retail sales, consumer sentiment and jobless claims point to U.S. economy as a whole continuing to heal.
-- This will continue until and unless our politicians do not make necessary decisions and hurt it.
-- They can help by passing on reforms.
-- U.S. banks have done a good job dealing with legacy issues (reduced bad debt, increased capital, etc.).
-- Banking of tomorrow is much lower ROE activity.
