Newly appointed chief equity strategist of Nuveen Asset Management, Bob Doll (ex-Blackrock chief), was on Bloomberg to discuss his outlook for the U.S. stock markets. He discusses his views on the impact of the fiscal cliff on investor sentiment.

-- Keep invested in the market; all the negative sentiment is priced into the market already.
-- Market will be in trendless mode till uncertainity related to the fiscal cliff is not resolved.
-- Uncertainty stifling business spending, leading to muddling economy.
-- The economy in the U.S. and the world is not growing fast but is still positive and muddling through.
-- Balance in the portfolio is key in this kind of market; include defensive plays into your portfolio (health care) along with cyclical plays.
