The titanium oxide producer, Kronos Worldwide Inc (KRO), posted a third quarter loss of $81.2 million or $1.66, opposed to a profit of $12.2 million or $0.25 in the previous year. Loss was due to a large income tax, fluctuation in foreign currency exchange rates, and the drop in titanium dioxide pigment-price. The company increased prices for titanium oxide in Europe in the second half of this year.

Two other buys were made last week by Director Fenton R. Talbott, who bought 2,000 shares at $19.86, and Director Peter Grunebaum, who bought 500 shares at $19.73.

Director, 10% Owner Robert B. Hellman Jr., 10% Owner Management Co Iv Llc Mdc, and 10% Owner George Edwin Mccown each sold 936,487 shares on 12/21/2007 at $19.15.

The electronic video display manufacturer, Video Display Corporation (VIDE) reported that its subsidiary Z-axis just won a $1 million contract with Harris Corporation’s RF Communications for the next three years. The company recently showed off their new video enhancement products, LSR and CLS at a technology show in Florida.

CEO, Director, 10% Owner Ronald D. Ordway bought 12,000 shares of VIDE stock this Wednesday at $6.12. CEO Ordway bought a total of 39,000 since September of 2007 at $6 to $8.08. As of August of 2007, Director Carolyn C. Howard bought a total of 1,400 shares between $7.50 and $8.07.
