Allscripts-Misys Reports 5 Insider Buys the Day Before Barclays Conference

On March 12, the CEO and four directors made insider buys in to Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions (MDRX). These buys came the day before Allscripts is set to present at the Barclays Global Healthcare Conference in Miami, Fla. The Barclays Global Healthcare Conference is an annual conference in which healthcare corporations from around the globe come to discuss advances in their research, new products, their history as well as investor information.

Director Stuart Bascomb got the ball rolling on Monday morning by purchasing 10,000 shares at $12.64 for a total of $126,400. Bascomb now holds 28,299 shares of Allscripts. Director Randy Thurman bought 4,000 shares at $12.73 for a total of $50,920. Thurman now holds 22,299 shares. Director Dennis Chookaszian made the biggest purchase of the day by purchasing 40,000 shares at $12.53 for a total of $501,200. Chookaszian now owns 75,595 shares of MDRX. President and CEO Paul Black bought 23,625 shares at $12.69 for at total purchase amount of $299,801. Black now holds 576,527 shares. Lastly, Director David Stevens added 39,600 shares to his stake at $12.74 for a transaction amount of $504,504.

Allscripts-Misys is a medical health information company based out of Chicago, Ill. The company provides clinical, financial, information solutions and other professional services that empower hospitals, physicians and post-acute organizations in order to achieve the best outcome possible. Allscripts specializes in integrated clinical software applications for hospitals and other medical clinics.

Allscripts reported its 2012 revenue of $1,463.1 million. The company also reported a net loss for the fourth quarter was $24.3 million this is compared to the $26 million net income of 2011. The operating cash flow for 2012 was $225 million.

“Our fourth quarter and 2012 financial results did not meet our expectations,” said Black. “With the conclusion of the strategic alternatives process in late December, we are moving forward to deliver on our mission to transform healthcare delivery globally. I have been actively engaged with our clients and team members and we have taken initial actions to focus the company on attaining results for our clients and shareholders.”

Paul Black has been the president and CEO for Allscripts-Misys since December 2012. Black served on the board of directors for seven months before that. He also serves as the director of Haemonetics Corporation (HAE), a public medical device company. Black received his B.S. degree from Iowa State University and his MBA from the University of Iowa.
