Here’s a look at what Lampert and other investor Gurus have been doing with Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH), down 48% year to date.
As of March 28, 2013, Sears CEO Edward Lampert reduced his Orchard Supply Hardware position again by 4.62%, unloading about 50,000 shares in his second trade this week. The OSH share price is at $3.96, with a 0% change from average. Guru Eddie Lampert is also manager of his firm ESL Investments and one of the richest people in America.
According to the Orchard Supply website, a key component of their repositioning and growth strategy includes transforming the store with a new "neighborhood" format. The company had 10 stores operating under the new format at the end of fiscal 2012, and plans to open four new stores and remodel six existing locations in 2013. Is this makeover-itis when consumers just want to buy a good shovel, fast, at the best price?
