When asked about what it is going to take for wind energy to make a real contribution to America's energy source, Pickens notes that at $4.50 natural gas wind energy can't compete, but at $6 natural gas there can be some wind energy.

If Pickens were to invest cash today with a plan to make money over the next three years in the energy sector he would look at Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) and Kinder Morgan (KMI). He thinks these companies have excellent yields and offer capital appreciation potential as well.

As far as energy producers he likes Continental Resources (CLR) and Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD).

He does not see oil going into a bear market and believes the WTI to Brent spread will continue to narrow.
