John Mauldin thinks that the world is in uncharted territory. The current actions of central governments worldwide are unsustainable, and when something is unsustainable it will change.

The central government action is unsustainable because expenses are outpacing incomes, entitlement promises are more than what can be delivered, the developed world is over-leveraged and unlimited quantitative easing can't be continued.

While pessimistic about the sustainability of the situation today, Mauldin is optimistic about how adaptable people are to such situations. We can meet the curveballs that are thrown at us.
