Thomas Russo bought his first share of Berkshire (BRK.A)(BRK.B) back in 1981 when his Stanford professor recommended it.

At the time Russo paid $1,100 for his first Berkshire A share.

Russo points to "stretching out your time horizon" as being the best advice he has received from Buffett.

Russo thinks that you have to think long term which is very independent of how conventional Wall Street thinking goes.
