Legendary corporate raider Carl Icahn thinks corporate boardrooms are dysfunctional and it hurts the American economy.

Icahn thinks it is ridiculous how hard it is for shareholders to kick out useless board members.

He cites CEOs making 700 times what the average employee makes while share prices declining being symptomatic of what ails corporate America.

Icahn is concerned that even with interest rates near zero that the economy isn't doing better.

He believes that improvements in the board room would help the entire country.
