Baron Funds Comments on Apple

Apple (AAPL, Financial) finally makes an appearance on the right side of the ledger, as the shares rose 21% during the quarter. The iPhone 5S debuted to generally enthusiastic reviews and early indications suggest a robust upgrade cycle. Our investment thesis continues to be that Apple has created a platform and an eco-system that will be leveraged to distribute additional products and services and allow the company to maintain a premium brand (and premium pricing and margins) over time.
