NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. (NRF): Chairman and CEO, Director David T Hamamoto Bought 100,000 Shares


NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. (NRF) declared their fourth quarter dividend at $0.36 a share. For 2007, the real estate investment trust reported adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) to be $95.7 million or $1.47 a share compared to a year ago $59.4 million or $1.32 a share.


Chairman and CEO, Director David T. Hamamoto bought 100,000 shares on 3/06/08 at $7.44. As of November of 2007, CEO Hamamoto bought a total of 164,700 shares at $7.44 to $8.99 per share. Director W. Edward Scheetz bought 10,000 shares in September at $9.98 to $10.30.


NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. has a market cap of $470.92 million; its shares were traded at around $7.57 with a P/E ratio of 15.86 and P/S ratio of 2.64. The dividend yield of NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. stocks is 16.6%.


Mylan Laboratories Inc. (MYL): Vice Chairman, CEO, Director Robert J Coury Bought 45,000 Shares


Mylan, Inc. (MYL)’s stock is at its six-year-low around $11 a share. In order to cut costs, the generic drug manufacturer is making plans to sell Dey, LP between $750 million and $1.2 billion. This decision will put a delay on the release of the emphysema treatment drug Performist, and will effectively lower earnings for the next three years by at least $0.20 per share.


Currently, David Dreman owns 74,050 shares of MYL stock.


In March, company officers made their buys between $10.14 and $10.91: Vice Chairman, CEO, Director Robert J. Coury bought a total of 45,000 shares, Counsel Stuart A. Williams bought 10,000 shares, and CFO Edward Borkowski bought 5,000 shares.

Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. (HLX): President & CEO, Director Owen E. Kratz Bought 115,900 Shares


Offshore energy operator, Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. (HLX) reported that their fourth quarter net income narrowed by 26% to $120.4 million or $1.25 a share from $162.5 million or $1.73 a share compared to 2006, although revenue increased by 26% to $500.2 million. Early February, the company’s Chief Executive Martin R. Ferron resigned as the new CEO Owen E. Kratz took over.


As of the prior quarter, David Dreman, John Keeley, David Einhorn, Robert Olstein, and Kenneth Fisher own HLX shares.


PRESIDENT & CEO, Director of Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. Owen E. Kratz bought a total of 115,900 shares during mid-Month around $32.25. General Electric Company (GE): Chairman and CEO, Director Jeffrey R. Immelt Bought 62,000 Shares


General Electric Company (GE) is a diversified industrial, media, and financial conglomerate. The company’s fourth quarter revenue rose 18% to $48.6 billion as the full year revenue grew 14% to $173 billion. Analysts expect strong earnings outlook at $2.42 per share for 2008; in order to meet rising non-domestic demand, the company will expand their overseas by investing $5 billion in water and energy projects for the next three years.


As George Soros, David Tepper, and Jean-Marie Eveillard reduced their shares of GE stock, Ruane & Cunniff, Mark Hillman, NWQ Managers, and Tweedy Browne upped their shares in GE. Warren Buffett, Bill Miller, Kenneth Fisher, Richard Snow, Tom Gayner, Chris Davis, Brian Rogers, David Dreman, Dodge & Cox, and John Keeley also owns GE stock.


Since October, insider buys were made at $32.93 to $40.50 by Chairman and CEO, Director Jeffrey R. Immelt, who bought a total of 270,000 shares, and Director Ralph S Larsen, who bought 25,000 shares, and Director Alan G Lafley, who bought 12,327 shares. Telecommunications and industrial Company, IDT Corporation (IDT) took in a bigger quarterly loss of $62.5 million compared to loss of $27 million from a year ago. The company will acquire 75% of the Colorado based EGL Oil Shale, LLC, which will be renamed AMSO, LLC.


Mason Hawkins, Third Avenue Management, Irving Kahn, and Bruce Berkowitz own considerable shares of IDT stock.


On 3/14/08, CEO and Vice Chairman, Director James A. Courter bought 240,000 shares, and Executive Vice President Marc E. Knoller bought 10,000 shares at $3.81 and $3.86, correspondingly.
