Gardner Denver Inc. (GDI, Financial), a manufacturer of industrial machinery and parts based in Wayne, PA, announced it would be acquired by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (0.1%) ("KKR") on March 8, 2013. KKR is a private equity firm with $75.5 billion under management. The merger consideration was $76.00 per share, or $3.9 billion total (in addition, the company paid a $0.05 quarterly dividend). The deal closed on July 30, 2013 after receiving shareholder and regulatory approvals for an annualized return of 5.18%.
