Apple (AAPL, Financial) enthusiasts are bouncing off the walls after the Cupertino-based company announced that the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is scarcely a couple of months away. The five-day conference would begin on June 2 and would continue till June 6 in San Francisco. Everyone’s obsessed with knowing what technology progression Apple’s made, and the new creations that it would unveil at the forum.

Discussion on Technology Advancement

Apple, known for keeping people guessing about its upcoming offerings, typically refused to comment on any speculative questions. The only information disclosed by the Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Philip Schiller in this regard is that the company’s preparing to unveil “our latest advances in iOS and OS X”.

Apple’s purpose it to discuss about the upcoming OS X and iOS advancements, and the latest technologies with developers that would help them “create innovative apps.” Wearable tech would surely form part of Apple’s discussion during the technical sessions since the company is rumored to be developing a wearable device. Although the company has preferred to keep mum, there are several speculations made in the past few months regarding its next ground-breaking creation.

Apple has previously used the WWDC platform as the launch pad of its offerings. Let’s take a quick look to see what’s on the way.

What Exciting Innovation to Expect?

The first and the most certain launch every year at the WWDC conference is the next generation iPhone. But this year things look to be a bit different as the upgraded iPhone, dubbed as the iPhone 6, is expected to make its debut not before September. However, we might get a glimpse of the upgraded software features that would throw some light on the future iPhone and iPad. The iPhone is Apple’s flagship product. So does the absence of a new iPhone diminish the craze and expectations from the event?

Absolutely not! The long rumored smartwatch from Apple, hailed as the iWatch, is going to be the prime draw. The company seems to be getting ready to reveal the highly anticipated wearable device and its concept. The iWatch is believed to possess a Healthbook feature that aims to revolutionize health tracking facilities.

Archrival Samsung (SSNLF, Financial) has already launched its smartwatch Galaxy Gear last September, but the response received is cold. However, the iWatch is expected to stir the market as there are huge expectations from the product since it’s an Apple offering. Samsung appeared to have hurried to get the first movers advantage, but Apple’s been more composed and clever to take more time in assessing what users really want.

Although the tech giant hasn’t released any of the iWatch images, but that as usual did not deter Apple fanatics from crafting their own imaginary images. According to the latest image, the iWatch would be available in two versions: the premium model would have a metal case and a leather strap, while the lower version would be made of plastic.

The next big thing under speculation is an Apple TV, which the company says has become more than just a hobby. However, like the iPhone, the Apple TV launch too looks scheduled for a later date -- not until October. Several Apple lovers are also expecting the company to unveil a new Mac Mini. A Mac update is overdue and this time expectations are that the new version would be slimmer than the existing model.

High Hopes

The WWDC has always been educational as it gives better idea regarding what technologies and advancements are coming our way. It’s always a pleasure to see a tech behemoth such as Apple hold such big events. Even the tiniest of things crafted by Apple is way better than others, and that’s what makes the company a genius in its genre. Can’t wait to know what’s coming from the company. Surely that’s the case with you too.
