Teetering Valuations

August 05, 2014

As stocks continue to decline, Monday's 1%-2% selloff has investors wondering "what happened?" Although there are many different events happening around the world, the most basic, and probably most truthful, answer is that the markets have become overvalued. We don't know how long the selloff will continue, but it should be welcomed by value investors. The decline will make stocks cheaper, closer to their valuations or below, and will allow investors to add value to their portfolio. Having a great company in your portfolio is always good. But it is always best to buy that company at the cheapest price you can.
