That was a pretty quick reversal on SLM...40% of Assets in the name for one quarter. Must have not liked the congressional response to the CLO/CDO crisis and the prospects it entails for SLM.

Seems like Berkowitz was right about many of the financials - too hard to understand. I am really surprised Klarman would put 40% of funds into a name that could present a negative surprise.

If Klarman had so much of his portfolio in SLM, how come the impact to his portfolio from selling out of the position was only .01%?

Very very odd..that he sold out SLM.....

May it be filing error...sometimes intentional error....and file amendment?

How ever, I see a lot of guys added/initiated SLM like Dodge&Cox, Barrow Hanley, Cooperman, Brandes, Appaloosa,

fir Tree, Legg Mason.....

I am fine with my holding...though I initiated after Baupost holding....

this is definitely the most confusing klarman quarter. Why did he sell out of FAF? The spinoff is yet to occur, its still a great company thats cheap. Other gurus sold out too. Also, if Baupost manages over 7 billion, why does it say on this site his entire portfolio value is 1.65 bil?
