GuruFocus was the recipient of some praise from Mike Hogan of Barron’s recently.
Here are some excerpts from his article.
“GuruFocus recently added a different take on charting for its premium subscribers,” Hogan wrote of our Customized Series in an article about developments in electronic investing.
The Customized Series “lets a subscriber plot multiple fundamental metrics for a ticker as far back as data are available,” he wrote. “For example, it takes two mouse clicks to plot Wal-Mart’s (WMT) price/earnings ratio against its intrinsic value (per a discounted cash-flow calculation) over 20 years.”
“It's a different way of visualizing stocks, and also helpful,” Hogan wrote. “Whether technical or fundamental, one chart is worth a thousand words.”
This interactive chart isn’t really new. GuruFocus earned praise from Hogan for it in January 2012 – but it has been refined and improved with the help of user feedback and it was mentioned by Barron's even earlier than that – in 2010, for example.
Barron's has mentioned GuruFocus several times in the past. GuruFocus was founded by Dr. Charlie Tian in December 2004.
