First Eagle Buys Zoetis, T-Mobile, Advance Auto Parts in 1st Quarter

Market-beating New York-based fund guided by Jean-Marie Eveillard releases portfolio update

First Eagle Investment (Trades, Portfolio), where well-known investor Jean-Marie Eveillard acts as a senior adviser to the Global Value Team and board trustee of First Eagle Funds, added 22 new stocks to its portfolio in the first quarter, according to their portfolio update last week.

New York-based First Eagle manages roughly $94 billion. Its managers take different approaches to each fund but base their work on principles of fundamental analysis, ignoring the market and avoiding losses in adverse markets. In the past 10 years, the First Eagle Global Fund returned 6.6% on an annualized basis, as its benchmark MSCI World Index returned 4.1%.

As of March 31, First Eagle had 339 portfolio holdings, most heavily weighted in Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials.

In the first quarter, the fund’s largest new buys were: Amphenol Corp (APH, Financial), F5 Networks Inc. (FFIV, Financial), Zoetis Inc. (ZTS, Financial), T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS, Financial) and Advance Auto Parts Inc. (AAP, Financial).
