Stocks the guru bought during the 2nd and 3rd quarters

In both the second and third quarters the guru bought shares in the following stocks:

Allergan PLCĂ‚ (AGN)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his stake by 11.44% and by 11.96% in the third quarter.

Allergan PLC is a specialty pharmaceutical company. It is engaged in developing, manufacturing and distributing generic, brand and biosimilar products. During the third quarter total net revenue increased 4% year over year, GAAP operating loss from continuing operations was $266 million, and non-GAAP adjusted operating income from continuing operations was $1.78 billion.

Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ)

During the second quarter, the investor increased his holding by 64.25% and by 28.66% in the third quarter. The guru holds 0.3% of outstanding shares of the company, which is a refiner and marketer of petroleum products, operating primarily in the South Central, Southwestern and Western regions of the U.S. It is also a marketer of asphalt in the Southwestern and Western U.S.

Third-quarter net loss available to stockholders was $8.8 million, or 12 cents per share, compared to net income available to stockholders of $41.9 million, or 60 cents per share, for the same quarter of a year before.

Camden Property Trust (CPT)

The guru holds 0.03% of outstanding shares of the company which is a Texas real estate investment trust engaged in the ownership, management, development, redevelopment, acquisition and construction of multifamily apartment communities.

Third-quarter revenues grew 3.7% from the same quarter of a year before and increased by 1.6% from a quarter before. The company reported 4.5% increase for net operating income.

Globant SAĂ‚ (GLOB)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his holding by 11.39% and by 28.17% in the third quarter. The company is engaged in the design and engineering of software development through its subsidiaries. It provides services such as application development, testing, infrastructure management, application maintenance and outsourcing among others.

Third-quarter revenue increased 22.7% year over year, and non-IFRS adjusted gross profit increased $80 million from the same quarter of 2015.

Joel Greenblatt (Trades, Portfolio) is the largest shareholder among the gurus with 0.06% of outstanding shares followed by Paul Tudor Jones (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.01% and Ron Baron (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.01%.

HP Inc. (HPQ)

During the second quarter, the investor increased his stake by 12.07% and increased it by 9.76%Ă‚ in the third quarter. The company provides products, technologies, software, solutions and services to individual consumers, small- and medium-sized businesses including customers in the government, health and education sectors. Third-quarter GAAP net revenue decreased 4% year over year, and GAAP net earnings from continuing operations grew 20%. The company reported 37% growth for non-GAAP diluted net earnings per share from continuing operations.

Lowe's Companies Inc. (LOW)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his stake by 20.84% and increased it by 9.40%Ă‚ in the third quarter. The company is a home improvement retailer that serves home owners, renters and commercial business customers. During the third quarter the company reported a 9.6% increase for sales and a 2.7% increase for comparable sales.

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his holding by 1.54% and by 13.61% in the third quarter. It is a security company providing systems, products and solutions in unmanned systems, cyber security, command, control, communications and computers (C4) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. During the third quarter the company delivered a 3% increase in sales and 22% growth for earnings per share. It repurchased 2.2 million shares during the quarter.
