The Nasdaq Composite closed at 5,444.50 for a gain of 27.14 points or 0.50%. The VIX Volatility Index was lower for the day at 11.75 for a loss of 0.89 points or 7.04%.
For the week the Dow Jones gained 3.06%, the S&P 500 gained 3.08%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 3.58%.
