In GuruFocus Value Conference 2016, we got eleven long ideas from the presenters. The performances of these are ideas are tracked here. Since May 2016, these eleven stocks have gained an average of 34%, more than doubled the gain of S&P 500 for the period, which gained 14%.

The outperformance of the conference ideas has been quite consistent. In September of 2016, about five months after the conference, the conference ideas gained 8.5% while the S&P 500 gained 3.3%. These ideas have gained even more since then.

The outperformance is also quite homogenous over the board. Ten out of the eleven ideas outperformed. The best performing ones are Leucadia (LUK, Financial), Comerica (CMA, Financial), and Apple (AAPL, Financial). Each of them gained more than 50% or more.

We have recently learned that Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) bought a large position in Apple. He paid about about $130 a share, while Apple was recommended in GuruFocus Value Conference 2016 at about $93.

For GuruFocus Value Conference 2017, we have carefully selected twelve value investors with decades of experience to speak. Each will present at least one investment idea. You will have the opportunities to ask questions about these ideas with the speakers and discuss in detail about them. Of course you will also be able to network with them and other conference attendees.
