On May 23 AutoZone Inc reported third quarter earnings for the quarter ended May 6. The company had a net sales of $2.6 billion, an increase of 1% from the third quarter of fiscal 2016. Domestic store sales declined 0.8% for the quarter. However, net income for the quarter increased 1.3% over the same period last year to $331.7 million, while diluted earnings per share increased 6.2% to $11.44 per share from $10.77 per share during third quarter fiscal 2016.
