How to get paid more per article? The best way to get paid more per article is to write good articles. GuruFocus appreciates deep analysis of companies. Writing quick idea articles without analysis does not add value to readers, and those articles will not be paid much.

The payment comes from two sources.
1. We will pay a fixed amount (starting at $10 per article, up to $100 per article). This payment may go up as you write longer and more, and most importantly good articles for GuruFocus.
2. You will be compensated with the advertising revenues of your articles’ pageviews. We use Google Adsense for the top horizontal banner (728x90) and the top vertical (160x600) banner on the left side bar.
If you have a Google Adsense account, your Google Adsense ads will be placed for 100% of the pageviews of your articles. You will be paid by Google directly and GuruFocus will not issue payment directly to you or handle any of your payment paperwork.
If you don't have an Adsense account, we will pay an additional fixed $5 per 1000 impressions on the top of the fixed fees you will receive.
3. We do have authors who use others ads instead of Google Adsense. It is fine with us as long as they are investing-related, and they are of the same sizes.
Why would you want to participate in the Writer Compensation Program?
1. You love to write, and you want to share.
2. Instead of writing on an isolated blog somewhere on the Internet, you can gain immediate exposure of your thoughts and research work to the more than 25,000 visitors a day.
3. Your articles will be syndicated by Google News, Google Finance, Yahoo News, AOL Finance, etc. Your articles will be exposed to the users on those sites and gain immediate attention.
4. Build reputation on the Internet and in the value investing world.
5. Generate a constant meaningful amount of cashflow for yourself. The more you write, the more money you will make. The better you write, the more money you will make.
6. If you have a website you want to promote, a link will be posted on your article pages which will link to your site.
Requirements
1. All articles submitted to GuruFocus are exclusive to GuruFocus and your site only. Any other publications of these articles require the written permission of GuruFocus.com. The fixed payment applies if the articles are published on GuruFocus only.
2. Your articles will not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, rights to publicity or any other legal or moral rights of any third party.
3. All submissions and publications are subject to GuruFocus Editorial guidelines, and GuruFocus may edit, modify, or remove these articles before or after publications.
4. Since you are paid by Google Adsense program, you agree to Google AdSenseTM Online Standard Terms and Conditions and Google AdSense Programme Policies.

What is the qualification requirement?
We don't require that you hold a degree in investing related areas. We don't require that you work in related areas either. Your articles will prove if you are qualified or otherwise. Submit Articles. They will tell us if you are qualified or not.
Can I write under a pseudonym?
It is your choice to write under your real name or a pseudonym. Writing under a real name will help you build reputation. But if that is not a concern for you, you can certainly write under a pseudonym.
How much money can I make by writing?
It depends on the topics you write, and the quality of your writings and the number of articles you write. If you write regularly for more than 20 articles a month, we believe you can potentially make more than $1000 a month as your articles accumulate.
Google AdSense does have fluctuations in pay for click, which affects your earnings too. But these days the pay per click is above historical average, and it is in up trend.
How does the Google Adsense part work?
You need to have a Google Adsense Account to make money. If you don't have Google Adsense Account, you can create one by going to Google Adsense and apply for an account. After you a approved (in 2-3 days), please generate two Adsense Codes, one is 728x90, the other is 160x600, and email them to GuruFocus@GuruFocus.com.
