Want to have lunch with Warren Buffett? Maybe you have to pay more than $1 million this year. Last year's bidding for lunch with Warren Buffett topped $620,000, the year before it was $351,100. If the trend continues, the bid for the this year's lunch could top $1 million.

The online bidding begins at $25,000 Sunday night in a charity auction that benefits the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco.

The winner for the last year was Yongping Duan, a 45-year-old investor from Palo Alto, California. "I learnt a lot from Warren Buffett and his philosophy," Duan said after winning his bid. "I wanted to find a chance to say thanks to him. I have also looked at Glide, and they do very good work."

The winning bidder will be able to take six friends to lunch with Buffett. The owners of the Smith & Wollensky restaurant in New York contributed $10,000 to Glide and will again host the lunch.

Mohnish Pabrai, a rising star in value investing also participated the auction. He dropped at the last minute. It will be interesting to see if he will participate again this year, and how much is he willing to pay.

How much does this lunch worth? This is a natural question since it is a question Warren Buffett always asks before he buys a stock. According to the auction announcement on ebay, it is "priceless".
