GuruFocus.com --> All-In-One Screener --> enter any parameter (e.g. Country = USA) --> ValuationMap-tab on the right --> "XLS Download"-button on the right --> can this .xls export include a column with the address of the headquarters? The City & State? After clicking on "XLS Download"-button can it have a pop-up window (or within the ValuationMap-tab) showing historical days to retrieve historical data sets? Thanks!!

it appears that i would have to it manually??

BBZ, yes you can filter your Guru holdings. Under "Guru" tab, click on "My Gurus", which will select your Gurus only.

hi Taowave, the F score is updated quarterly. What we display is the latest quarterly data.

Can we filter for just our Guru holdings? Like in the old screen? This only allows me to apply my Guru's to "Currently Holding" and "Involved in Buy/Sell". I would like to be able to filter out other Guru holdings.

any chance you could add in a couple of quarterly data fields to screen,i.e. Positive earnings for the latest quarter and latest quarter earnings >quarterly earnings 1 yr ago

ReplyTaowave - 1 month ago
Hi,When I look into the detail of a stock,I see an annual F score and quarterly. The screen results appear to reflect the quarterly F score. Is that correct? I am a little confused as to how the scores are calculated since you are utilizing quarterly data.Any help appreciated

Ho can I screen for companies whose Enterprise Value is less than Market Cap?
Gordon1@guru
ReplyGordon1@guru - 2 months ago
AMAUDHOO,
the green line is what the stock is worth based on lynch's evaluation method.

the blue line is what the current stock is trading for.

theoretically, if the blue line is substantially under the green line, it means the stock is undervalued and a plausible investment based on lynch's screening method. but you should do more digging and not base your decision on that screen alone.

Jmh600,

Custom screens (Revenues/Assets) get complicated (and slow) when it comes to querying databases. That kind of functionality would require fully custom queries.

Would there be any chance that you could develop a formula that would allow the user to define his own variable e.g. Revenue/Assets?

I'm trying to look at companies based on their asset turnover and finding some solutions to it but something like what I described would be much more elegant.

Jeffthro007,
Did you think of just reporting the problem(s) to Charlie? It's a complex site with things sometimes getting screwed up when they make changes, but I've always found the customer service to be very good. Try complaining to Morningstar and see how soon they fix their problems!
Goforit
ReplyGoforit - 4 months ago
Is anyone aware of a finance website that not only provides raw valuation numbers, such as the trailing PE, but also ratios that take into account one-time adjustments. Leap Frog is a perfect example: It currently has a raw PE of 6.3 (fantastic apparent value), but after taking into account one-time tax benefits used for the Dec 2013 10-K filing, the actual PE is 15.6 (See 3/18/2014 “Seeking Alpha” LF article). I am not referring to forward PE estimates but, rather, adjusted trailing PE’s. Better yet, a website with a screening option for these valuations. This is not a criticism of GuruFocus, since I have yet to find any websites with these numbers (too much labor, as compared to automated computations).

I've also subscribed to European stocks. Unfortunately the results now include symbols of the "home" exchange plus symbols of a European resp. US exchange. For example TIF and TIF.Germany. This is quite annoying: it makes the list at least twice as long as necessary; sometimes the "foreign" symbol does not include the complete data set. GF should always list the home exchange data only. If someone wishes to see if the stock is listed elsewhere he or she could see it on the stock's main page.

I'm irritated at GF at the moment. I have seven screens, all of which have been altered or deleted. When I go through the tedium of rebuilding the simplest of my screens, no list is generated (a list should be generated given how broad the screen in question is). Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there some obscure rule that says I must refresh my screens occasionally? Thanks

Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to set a screen criteria for stocks making 52 week highs today? I have other criteria I want to add to screener but I can't find where the 52 week high is.
MCube78
ReplyMCube78 - 5 months ago
Gurufocus, is there any chance you could add some more consistency to the NCAV criterion? The screener allows you to set P/NCAV, but then in "Active Filters" you get the NCAV (i.e., not P/NCAV) and then if you download the excel file you get (again) P/NCAV but in a column titled NCAV!
Thank you for the good work

How would I set up stock alerts based on any of the ratios such as price decrease by 10%, ALtman <1.8 etc.
CollinMoshman
ReplyCollinMoshman - 5 months ago
This is the best screener I’ve found, but I’d really like to see two changes made:

1. Redefine the NCAV variable to: Current Assets – Total Liabilities. This is the standard definition of Net Current Asset Value given by Investopedia, the Gurufocus Net-Net newsletter, Old School Value, etc.

2. Add in a new variable called NNWC (net net working capital), defined as NCAV currently is with AR and inventory discounted.

ReplyDeckard - 6 months ago
Right I am confused about the "Valuation Ratio" (All-in-One Screener) items of Price/DCF XXX. All three seem to give an output inconsistent with what you expect. For example, if I screen a Price/DCF Average between 0.1 and 0.9, I get results that include results of >0.9 as well as companies without a DCF valuation. Is this a glitch with all three ratios ? (note the results heading needs to be repaired)

Hi,

I would like to search for companies that have ROE of at least 15% every year for the past 5 years. Google Finance have it, and hope gurufocus have it as well.
Gurufocus
ReplyGurufocus - 7 months ago
hi Taowave,

1. The 12-month growth rate is TTM growth rate.
2. We don't support the most recent quarter relative to 1-year ago.
3. Some of the parameters require you to set the minimum values. it might be avoided and we will look into this.

The best way to contact us it to open tickets and we can fix there.

ReplyTaowave - 7 months ago
If I select 1 year EPS growth rate and select the top 10,I get 10 stocks.5 stocks have astronomical growth rates, but the sixth stock has a growth rate of 8% and the balance have no growth rates displayed.

Something appears to be not working correctly..
Taowave
ReplyTaowave - 7 months ago
Gurufocus,
I meant most recent quarter compared to one year ago..

Is your 1 year growth rate TTM vs one year ago or MRQ vs one year ago quarter?

I cant click for a definition

Thanks

ReplyTaowave - 7 months ago
regarding the price/net cash field.if you do not set a lower boundary,as in 0 or .1,your results will be innacurate. You cant leave it blank as you have it set in your pre set screen..pleae confirm

Hi,
I see that there is no field for Quarterly earnings and would like to know if I could somehow add that field to the list of stocks that meet my criteria..I try to avoid stocks that have had a disasterous MRQ.

Any thoughts other than doing it manually..
Taowave
ReplyTaowave - 7 months ago
Hi,Did you happen to make a fix for screening for stocks with a Piotroski score of 9? I now get stocks having a vlaue of 9..

You may want to look at your screen "Stock sold than less cash"..One of your requirements is that Price/Net cash <1....

Look at TIVO..On the summary page it trades for over 6 for Price/Net Cash, yet it is coming up under your screen as having Price/NetCash <1...That is one of many stocks with this issue..

I like the screener alot, but have found many unusual outputs that appear to be in error..

Perhaps I am missing something, but I dont think so:)

Archiedividend
ReplyArchiedividend - 8 months ago
Can you explain to me what the "dividend growth rate" measures. I see here for example a dividend growth rate of 22.90 for CA, however I calculate that the dividend growth rate between 2012 and 2013 is 150% as it increased to $1.00 from $0.40. Data I am using is Morningstar. Furthermore, is the P/E 12 trailing months? Can you describe how the share buyback rate is calculate and what variables are taken into consideration? Thank you.
