GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

Business Description

Industry: Semiconductors » Semiconductor Equipment & Materials
Compare:ASML, AMAT, TOELY, KLAC, LRCX » details
Aehr Test Systems was incorporated in the state of California on May 25, 1977. It manufactures and sells systems, which are designed to reduce the cost of testing flash, dynamic random access memory, and other memory devices, and to perform reliability screening or burn-in of complex logic and memory devices. These systems can be used to simultaneously perform parallel testing and burn- of packaged integrated circuits, singulated bare die, or ICs still in wafer form. As a long- time provider of burn- in equipment, with over 2,500 systems installed worldwide, the company has developed and introduced several product families, including the FOXTM, MTX and MAX systems, and the DiePakR carrier. The FOX system is a full wafer contact parallel test and burn-in system designed to make contact with all pads of a wafer simultaneously, thus enabling full wafer parallel test and burn-in. The MTX system is a massively parallel test system designed to reduce the cost of memory testing by performing both test and burn-in on thousands of devices simultaneously. The MTX system consists of several subsystems: pattern generation and test electronics, control software, network interface and environmental chamber. The MAX system can effectively burn-in and functionally test complex devices, such as digital signal processors, microprocessors, microcontrollers and systems-on-a-chip. The MTX massively parallel test system is designed to reduce the cost of memory testing by processing thousands of memory devices simultaneously, including flash memories, DRAMs and other memories. The DiePak carrier is a reusable, temporary package that enables IC manufacturers to perform cost-effective final test and burn-in of bare die. The company manufactures and markets massively parallel test systems, monitored burn-in systems, full wafer contact systems, die carriers, test fixtures and related accessories. The company markets and sells its products throughout the world to semiconductor manufacturers, semiconductor contract assemblers, electronics manufacturers and burn-in and test service companies. The company has sales and service operations in the United States, Japan, Germany and Taiwan. The Company assembles its products from components and parts manufactured by others, including environmental chambers, power supplies, metal fabrications, printed circuit assemblies, ICs, burn-in sockets, high-density interconnects, wafer contactors and interconnect substrates.
