Agilysys, Inc. was organized in 1963. The Company began operations as a distributor of electronic components and, later, enterprise computer solutions. In 2004, it exited the former with the sale of the industrial electronic division and subsequently changed its name to Agilysys, Inc. The Company develops and markets end-to-end technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, including hardware and software products; support, maintenance and subscription services; and professional services. The Company's operations are segmented into two - Hospitality Solutions Group and Retail Solutions Group. The Hospitality Solutions Group develops, markets and sells property and lodging management, point-of-sale, and inventory and procurement applications to customers in the hospitality industry, including operators of hotels, casinos, destination resorts, cruise lines and foodservice management establishments. The Retail Solutions Group segment provides systems integration services for retail POS, self-service, and wireless solutions, as well as business consulting, and hardware maintenance and support services. This segment also sells POS and mobile POS solutions to facilitate the check-out process, as well as other self-service capabilities; support and professional services, including consultation, analysis, design, installation, implementation, and lifecycle management, as well as onsite maintenance and help-desk support; and software hosting or subscription services. It also provides support, maintenance, resold hardware products and software hosting or subscription services. The Company serves casinos, resorts, hotels, foodservice venues, stadiums, cruise lines, grocery stores, convenience stores, general & specialty retail businesses and partners.
