Autoliv Inc is a developer, manufacturer and supplier to the automotive industry of automotive safety systems. The Company's products include passive safety systems and active safety systems.

Autoliv Inc is a Delaware corporation incorporated on October 1, 1996. The Company is a developer, manufacturer and supplier to the automotive industry of automotive safety systems. Its product includes passive safety systems and active safety systems. Its operating business segments are Passive Safety segment (airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels, restraint electronics, and crash sensors) and Electronics segment (Active Safety products including camera-based vision systems, night driving assist, automotive radars, brake controls and other active safety systems). Passive safety systems are meant to improve vehicle safety, and include modules and components for passenger and driver-side airbags, side-impact airbag protection systems, seatbelts, steering wheels, passive safety electronics, whiplash protection systems and child seats, and components for such systems. Active safety systems are designed to make driving easier and more comfortable and to intervene before a collision in order to make accidents avoidable or reduce the impact. Active safety products include camera-based vision systems, night driving assist, automotive radars, brake controls, positioning systems, electronic control units, and other active safety systems, and passive safety electronic products, such as restraint electronics and crash sensors. The Company considers its products to be components of integrated automotive safety systems. The Company is subject to various U.S. federal, state and local, and non-U.S., laws and regulations, including those related to the requirements of environmental, occupational health and safety, financial and other matters.

The Fund’s top performing position was Autoliv Inc. (NYSE:ALV) which climbed over 14 percent and added 25 basis points of return to the Fund during the quarter. The company reported better than expected results. Sales were strong across the board as active safety continues to perform well. The company also looks to gain additional market share in the airbag market given the recent struggles of their main competitor.
