Its business operations are focused on the following: AOL Properties seeks to be a leading online publisher of relevant and engaging online content and provider of engaging consumer products and services, by utilizing scalable publishing platforms, social engagement platforms and content management systems. Advertising business generates advertising revenues from AOL Properties through the sale of display advertising and search and contextual advertising. It also generates advertising revenues through the sale of advertising on third-party websites, which it refers to as the "Third Party Network." The Company's mission is to provide an open and transparent advertising system that is easy-to-use and offers its publishers and advertisers unique and valuable insights. The Company seeks to grow the number of publishers and advertisers utilizing the Third Party Network. It markets its offerings to advertisers on both AOL Properties and the Third Party Network under the brand "AOL Advertising." The Company markets its offerings to publishers on the Third Party Network under the brand "Advertising.com" and also market offerings as video advertisements distributed through goviral ApS ("goviral", formerly goviral A/S) and 5 Minutes Ltd. It markets its offerings to advertisers on both AOL Properties and the Third Party Network under the brand "AOL Advertising." Through the Advertising.com Group, it provided third party publishers with premium products and services intended to make their websites attractive to brand advertisers, such as video and custom content production, in addition to offering ad serving and sales of third party advertising inventory. The Company competes for the time and attention of consumers with a range of Internet companies, including Yahoo! Inc., Google, Microsoft Corporation's MSN, IAC/Interactive Corp. and social networking sites such as Facebook, Inc. and Fox Interactive Media Inc.'s MySpace, as well as traditional media companies which are increasingly offering its own Internet products and services.
