Axfood AB, established in 2000, is a Swedish food retailing company. The Company's food retail business is conducted through the wholly owned store chains Willys and Hemköp. Wholesale business is conducted through Dagab and Axfood Närlivs. It has 252 wholly owned stores. In addition, Axfood collaborates with a large number of proprietor run stores that are tied to Axfood through agreements, including stores in the Hemköp chain as well as stores run under the Handlar'n and Tempo profiles. The Company's operating segment includes Willys: Sales of food retail products/groceries at discount prices; Hemköp: Sales of food retail products with a broad product offering and high level of service. On account of the conversion of PrisXtra that has been started in 2013, PrisXtra has ceased to be an own segment in the reporting and is included as from the first of January 2013 as part of Hemköp; Dagab: Wholesaling business, with approximately 80% of sales to Group- owned stores; Närlivs: Wholesaling and cash and carry business; sales primarily to retailers, convenience retailers, and restaurants and foodservice operators; Other: Pertains to Group-wide support functions such as purchasing coordination, IT and corporate offices.
